Localisation of Osteochondral Lesions of the Talar Dome: MRI Compared With Clinical Findings - Can The Site Of The Pain Predict The Site Of The Lesion?
نویسنده
چکیده
The pain associated with OCL’s has been noted to be generalised and non-specific8, similar to the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Localised tenderness is frequently lacking3,5,15, although localised tenderness has been described, usually postero-medially or antero-laterally in accordance with the site of the lesions3,5,8. Nevertheless, these studies are of poor scientific quality with anecdotal reporting of the sites of tenderness.

Osteochondral lesions of the talus: localization and morphologic data from 424 patients using a novel anatomical grid scheme.
BACKGROUND The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the true incidence of osteochondral lesions on the talar dome by location and by morphologic characteristics on MRI. Because no universally accepted localization system for talar dome osteochondral lesions currently exists, we established a novel, nine-zone anatomical grid system on the talar dome for an accurate depiction of lesion locat...

Background and purpose: Optic neuritis is one of the common causes of unilateral or bilateral visual loss. The most common cause of this disorder is demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) and most of the patients with optic neuritis will present other signs of multiple sclerosis (MS). The diagnosis depends on the clinical findings, however, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is...
متن کاملOsteochondral Lesions of the Talar Dome.
Osteochondral lesions of the talar dome are relatively common causes of ankle pain and disability. Trauma is the most common cause, but ischemic necrosis, en-docrine disorders, and genetic factors may have etiologic significance. Medial lesions are usually located posteriorly on the dome of the talus, whereas lateral lesions are most frequently located anteriorly. Although the staging system de...
متن کاملOperative Technique and Clinical Outcome in Endoscopic Core Decompression of Osteochondral Lesions of the Talus: A Pilot Study
BACKGROUND Revitalizing the necrotic subchondral bone and preserving the intact cartilage layer by retrograde drilling is the preferred option for treatment of undetached osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT). We assessed the effectiveness of Endoscopic Core Decompression (ECD) in treatment of OLT. MATERIAL AND METHODS Seven patients with an undetached OLT of the medial talar dome underwent ...
